In recent years, with the addition of the transfer portal and NIL, it’s sometimes hard to really latch onto a player on your favorite team. Luckily for me, I was born a fan of the Michigan State Spartans and Tom Izzo plays a little differently. Although there’s a number of players that are transfers in the rotation for the Spartans, there’s one homegrown player that moves the needle in a way no other player in the country can: Coen Carr.
For the casual fan who doesn’t spend their Tuesday’s watching college basketball and haven’t had the chance to see Carr play, just take the time out of your day to enjoy this human highlight reel. You’re welcome.
Now that you can see the pure athleticism that Carr possesses, you can understand the hype. On top of the fact that he’s a liability to bang his head on the rim at any moment to send the crowd at the Breslin Center into a frenzy, he’s also been working on his game. He’s noticeably stepped up and hit some big shots in big time games, such as their win over Kentucky just last week while he improved to 37-percent from behind the 3-point line this year.
The connection between Jeremy Fears Jr, the national leader in assists per game (10.1) and Carr is becoming one of the deadliest alley-oop duos in the country. Be sure to tune in this Thanksgiving as the 11th ranked Spartans take on the 16th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels, you just might have the chance to see a “Flying Carr!”
